The Halton Islamic Association (HIA) was founded in the late 1980s as a charitable organization dedicated to serving the Muslim community in Burlington.
Our primary objective was to establish a Masjid—a place for worship and religious education.
Through the dedication and efforts of our community, the Masjid was built in the early 1990s and has since been a central hub offering various religious and educational services.
Our Mission
At Halton Masjid, our mission is rooted in the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah.
Core Objectives
Comprehensive Community Development: Providing a platform for the holistic development of the Muslim community, emphasizing Islamic values and principles.
Education and Development: Investing in future generations by imparting correct Islamic knowledge through educational initiatives.
Interfaith Dialogue: Promoting understanding and dialogue with the wider community, inviting all to worship Allah and adhere to Islamic teachings.
Community Support: Offering essential services such as counseling, marriage and funeral services, financial assistance, social activities, youth education, senior support programs, and more.
Future Plans
As our community grows, we are actively engaged in establishing a new Islamic Center in the northern suburb of Burlington. This center will further expand our capacity to serve the needs of our community and facilitate outreach efforts.
